Sow in situ or in modules - can be sown in seed beds.
Sow 1cm deep, thin seedlings or transplant to 15-20 cm apart
Rows 30cm apart.
For early spring crop sow in Autumn and overwinter under cloches/crop cover: choose hardy variety.
To avoid glut sow a small number at fortnightly intervals

If sown in modules or a seed beds: when there are five or six leaves.
Water planting position and transplant in the evening to avoid wilting

Symptoms - yellow/ brown spots form on the upper surface.
White mould underneath leaf.
Leaves become distorted and wilt.
Treatment - Avoid overcrowding, ensure good air circulation and adequate drainage.
Infested plants should be burned.
