Best initial test in effusion (detect smaller mLs)
Also good to tell exact location of infiltrate first found on PA
What will an Xray show in osteomyelitis?
Elevation of periosteum (may take 2 weeks)
What organs are better seen w/ Abdominal CT v. US?
CT - pancreas, diverticulitis, appendix, liver or spleen masses, kidney stones
US - gallbladder (stones), renal disease (EXCEPT stones), uterus, ovaries, adnexa, prostate
MUGA
Multiple-gated acquisition scan
Nuclear ventriculography
Best for ejection fraction
When do you use a bone scan?
To look for bony mets
Gallium Scan
Indium Scan
Gallium - for FUO, followed iron so see increased iron uptake of infections and some cancer
Indium - for FUO, tagged WBC scan so also detects infection
