What is the initial diagnostic test done with head trauma and stroke like symptoms?
CT without contrast
Why do you not use contrast?
blood looks white but contrast also looks white
why is MRI not used first?
Good to look for acute ischemia but not as good to look for acute blood, time sensitive, and also expensive
Who can’t have MRI?
Pacemakers, metalic foreign body, chlosterphobia
What is the name of the contrast?
MGd, gadallineum doesn’t have iodine in it
Does CT have iodine in it?
CT has iodine in it
If someone has a primary carcinoma what do you have to do?
do test with contrast
Allergy/ renal insufficiency with CTA and they have pacemaker what can you do?
harvard prep, to stop allergy
