Radio Communications Flashcards
Members are required to communicate with CU upon:
-leaving vehicle
-Arriving on scene
-subject stops, warrant checks, field interviews
-receiving radio communication
-entering in and out of service
When member must remain in area with poor radio reception they must:
Advise CU and call by telephone every 30 minutes unless directed otherwise
In the event of a region or system wide radio failure what shall member do:
Locate nearest mta facility / station with a phone and notify CU of location and #
Do not transmit within how many feet of an electric blasting operation

When radio communication device is damaged or malfunctions what must a member do?
Notify CU and Supervisor
Fill out Radio Trouble Report prior to end of tour
Steps for malfunctioning portable
Issue replacement. If issued notify CU supervisor with ani # and assigned member
Steps for mobile equipment
Take vehicle out of service. Notify CU and fleet service coordinator
Steps for control station
Notify CU Supervisor
Where does radio trouble report go?
Submit copy to District CO
Attach original to equipment
Fax or email to TSU
How will the CU supervisor make notification when a replacement radio is assigned or there is a radio system outage ?
