Divine Reading
Source Criticism
A specific way to study the bible to find the source of where the text came from. WHERE THEY GOT THEIR MATERIAL
Synoptic Gospels
The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, which, because of their similarities, can be “seen together” in parallel columns and mutually compared.
Historical Criticism
Examines the origins of the old and new testament. FIND The CONTEXT LOOKING AT IT LITERALLY AS U WERE AT THAT TIME
Form Criticism
Different forms in the bible, love letters, yelling letters, poems, law. Read them all differently so you understand the form.

- Redaction Criticism *
Studies the stages processes and the intent of scripture in the final form of a text.
Textual Criticism*
To restore as nearly as possible the original text of a work the autograph of which has been lost. Identifies different textual versions of the new testament. Comparing old text to find the most authentic version
Vulgate
A latin version of a Bible prepared by St. Jerome. 300 Ad the canon has been sent and ST. Jerome translated it all to latin. This is the official version of the bible in the catholic church for almost 200 years

Moral Sense*
Concerns images of the life of a disciple derived from the stories, people, events, and things of Scripture (Inner conscience that tell you right or wrong)
leads us to greater faith and trust in God by not just hearing God’s word but also acting on it.
Anagogical sense*
Teaching of the bible that relates to or leads to eternal life.
Morally analogically, literally, allegorically are four ways to read scripture. Points to heaven looking reading as it pointing to heave.
Parable
A short story that tells moral thing or about jesus.
