Describe experimental research and it’s components
Independent and dependent variables, experimental and controlled group, MUST be random, pre and post experiment survey, and cause and effect
Describe correlational research and it’s components
Does not require or show cause and effect, never aware of confounding variables, and correlation (r - -1.00 to 1.00) opposite directions = (-) same directions = (+)
What are the primary differences between psychiatrists and psychologists?
Psychiatrist prescribe medicine and are M.D.’s, and psychologist counsel and are Ph. D’s
What is a neuron and it’s associated parts?
A neuron (nerve cell) is the basic building block of the nervous system that processes information/sends messages in the nervous system, it’s parts are the dendrite (receives information), axon (carries information), myelin sheath (surrounds axon), action potential (electrical charge), synapses (gaps between neurons), neurotransmitters (carry information)

Affects sleep, mood, attention, and learning, decrease cause depression
Define: Acetylcholine
Affects learning, memory, and muscular activity, decrease causes Alzheimer’s, increase causes violent muscle spasms

Affects sleep, mood, attention, learning, and movement, increase causes schizophrenia, decrease causes Parkinson’s
