Questions From Review Flashcards
(True/false) On initial inquiry, a swimmers is always included as part of the routine protocol for T spine
True
(True/false) kyphotic patients will require that the cones be opened wider for the lateral view of a T spine
True
(True/false) for T spine: if a patient is rotated too far forward for the lateral, the right ribs will appear anterior to the left ribs
True
(True/false) for T spine: a trauma swimmers needs to include the skull base to T4
True
(True/false) for T spine: on a lateral, tilt will close the intervertebral disk spaces
True
(True/false) for T spine: tilt can be corrected with a tube angle when imaging on the table
True
True/false for RAO axial oblique C-spine projections: the tube should be angled 15 degrees caudad to open up intervertebral joint spaces
True
True/false for RAO axial oblique C-spine projections: the right vertebral foramina will be visualized
True
True/false for RAO axial oblique C-spine projections: if zygapophyseal joints are visualized, the midcoronal plane has been rotated more than 45 degrees
True
What do you check for rotation?
The posterior sides of the vertebral bodies are superimposed (thats what you want), there is only one clear white line on the posterior sides
What do you check for tilt?
The zygapophyseal joints are nicely superimposed (what you want) and the intervertebral disk spaces are open and even
When viewing an SI joint you are visualizing the SI joint (closest/farthest) from the IR
Farthest ex LPO and visualizing upside the right side
Ribs 1-7 are
True ribs
Ribs 8-12 are
False ribs
Ribs 11-12 are
Floating ribs
