A
  1. simple, unambiguous terms that are understood by everyone
  2. explicit definitions
  3. avoid long complex questions, risks, incomprehensible, redundant, confusing
  4. no double stimuli, should only relate to one fact, avoid negations
  5. avoid suggestive questions - do not provoke specific answer
  6. avoid questions that people presumably do not know
  7. formulate questions with a clear temporal reference
  8. answer categories should be exhaustive and non-overlapping
  9. formulate balanced questions and note the type of scaling
