3 – In a complete practice of SwáSthya Yôga what is the minimum number of ásanas?

(Excluding the possibility of only one ásana.)

A

In a complete practice of SwáSthya Yôga, there are eight ásanas, since the ones of the initial angas (mudrá, pujá, mantra e pránáyáma) must be considered, and that of the yôganidrá.

5 – Does the practitioner or instructor need to be aware of any special considerations when assembling the Yôga practice?

A

There are many. It is important that the flexions and torsions are balanced with identical exercises performed to both sides. (Exception: the choreographies may use some artistic licence and balance using similar ásanas, provided that this is done with good sense and with the execution, afterwards, of the whole series to the other side).

Q

6 – What may happen if the practice does not obey the rule of balancing?

A

The muscular and articular areas will be affected. If the practitioner keeps executing an unbalanced series, problems in the spine may appear. Then, internal organs, circulation, endocrine system, etc., may be affected.

Q

7 – Besides applying the general rules of execution, are there any other considerations to be aware of when forming a good practice?

A

Yes. Serious incompatibilities occur between some techniques, as they do not follow a precise rule. These are noticed only by a professional teacher, hence the need of a Supervisor.
