Quality management- Knowledge area Flashcards
Quality mgmt definition
Plans, manages and controls the quality requirements for the project
Quality versus grade
grade according to tech specs. Merc is a high grade compared to toyota. quality is a degree in which set of characteristics fulfill requirements. Poor quality is a problem, poor grade is not.
Manage quality versus control quality
Manage quality- application of planned, systemic quality activities that assure that the project will meet requirements while incoporating organizations quality policies.
Design for “X”
– Set of guidelines for design to optimize a certain aspect of a product
– Objective is to reduce costs, improve quality, improve performance and customer satisfaction
Ishikawa diagrams
Cause and Effect diagram also known as Ishikawa Diagram (on the name of the founder) or Fish Bone Diagram as the diagram resembles a skeleton of a fish. As per the PMBOK® Guide Cause and Effect Diagram can be define as; A Demonstration technique that helps trace an undesirable effect back to the root cause
Histogram
A histogram is a bar graph that illustrates the frequency of an event occurring using the height of the bar as an indicator.
Pareto chart
It comes under tools and techniques.(Pareto chart is a ranked histogram.A Pareto chart is a special type of histogram that represents the Pareto philosophy (the 80/20 rule) through displaying the events by order of impact.
Quality audit
graphically represent data and rank potential causes of defects (pareto chart uses 80/20 rule)
Control charts
A control chart is a graphic display of process data over time and against established control limits, and that has a centerline that assists in detecting a trend of plotted values toward either control limit.
“Run of 7”
Its a control chart
Scatter diagrams
It comes under tools and techniques. graphs relationship between two variables
Check sheets
the check sheet is one of the seven basic quality tools. used for capturing and categorizing observations.
Checklists
the checklist is intended as a mistake-proofing aid when carrying out multi-step procedures, particularly during the auditing, checking and finishing of process outputs
Retrospectives
the regular meeting of the project team. retrospective should take place after the completion of an iteration or sprint.
UCL/LCL
Upper control limit in control chart/ Lower control limit in control chart
