Quality management Flashcards
Quality function deployment
A structured approach to defining customer needs or requirements and translating them into specific plans to produce products to meet those needs
Variable Sampling
Variable sampling is about checking “how much”, “how good”, or “how bad”.
Tolerance
the acceptable deviation between what is estimated and what is actually delivered.
Control Limits
the three standard deviations on either side of the mean (this mean is also known as the centerline), of a normal distribution of data that has been laid out, or plotted, on a control chart.
Prevention costs
costs which are incurred for activities that are specifically designed to prevent poor product quality from happening in the first place.
Appraisal costs
any resources used to identify or fix errors in deliverables during the project.
Failure costs
These costs are incurred because defects are produced despite efforts by the organization to prevent them. Therefore these costs are also known as costs of poor quality. These failure costs are incurred when a product fails to conform to its design specifications.
Statistical Sampling
A technique that involves choosing a random sample from a population of interest, for inspection.
