quality control Flashcards
quality control
Checks that take place during and after manufacture to ensure products are safe and made to a high standard.
what happens if a product fails quality control?
They are often disregarded.
what is the purpose of quality control?
To check that products are being made to a high standard, and aren’t faulty. They also ensure that products are safe.
registration marks
Used to check colours and plates are aligned. Registration marks are printed on an inconspicuous area, or any area that is going to be trimmed after. If any of the CYMK plates aren’t in line, that colour will appear outside of the target area. However, if all plates are aligned, the symbol will print in perfect black.
colour bars
Used to check colour is mixed correctly. It is printed somewhere inconspicuous, or somewhere that will be cut off. Squares of the correct colours are printed here, to compare against the colour on the product.
