73: Educational Program
What is to be contributed to an educational program?
As per 168 of the law an educational program is to contribute for each child the following:
1) The child will have a strong sense of identity
2) The child will be connected and contribute to his or her world
3) The child will have a strong sense of well being
4) The child will be a confident and involved learner
4) The child will be an effective communicator
74: Documenting of child assessments or evaluations for delivery of educational program
1 - The approved provider must ensure that the following are documented:
a) For children preschool age or under, assessments of the child’s development needs, interests, experiences and participation in the program.
b) For children over preschool age, evaluations of the child’s wellbeing, development and learning
2 - In preparation of the documentation the AP must:
a) consider the period of time that the child is being cared for and how the documentation will be used by the educators
b) prepare the document in a way that it is readily understandable.
75 : Information about educational program to be kept available.
a) The approved provider must ensure that the information about the contents and the operation of the program is displayed at the premises and is accessible to the parents.
b) A copy of the program is available on request at the centre
76 : Information about educational program to be given to parents
The AP must ensure that a parent is provided with:
1) Info about the content and operation of the program as far as it relates to the child
2) Info about the child’s participation in the program.
3) A copy of the documents kept under regulation 74 in respect to the child.
