what is the surgical treatments for small medium and large OAFs?
A
- small: <2mm will close on its own
- medium: 2-4mm surgical with buccal advancement flap with mattress suture
- large: >4 palatal pedicle finger flap or buccal fat pad graft(under GA)

what should be done if there is a delay in presentation of an OAF
A
if delayed by 6 weeks then assess for healing
* no evidence of closure = epithelial lining should be excised and advancement flap used to close the defect

what post op advice should be given for an OAF?
A
- refrain from blowing nose
- hot salt water mouth rinses
- post op analgesic
- nasal decongestants
- broad spectrum antibiotics
