What is the Social Ecological Model
A model acknowledging that the individual is influenced by a collection of larger interrlated and cumulative contexts such as organizations communities and governments.

paying attention to how one relates to emotions rather than letting the emotions take charge of ones behaviour

the often found relationship between socioeconomic status and health. health is positively related to wealth
as poverty increases, health status decreases, found in virtually all countries
distribution of wealth is a predictor of the health of a countries citizens.

factors such as housing, employment, SES, and food availability affect the health of populations

attempts to reduce the harmful effects of a behaviour when faced with the reality that health compromising behaviour cannot be eliminated from a population.

because they fail to accept that these strategies do not indicate endorsement of health compromising behaviours, especially those that are illegal.

what is effectiveness
a drugs ability to yield intended outcomes under realistic conditions.
