What are some symptoms of pylonephritis?
A
- +/- flank pain depending on time catching infection
- Blood in urine
- Fever
- Nausea
- Low appetite
- Lethargy

What are the diagnostic tests used to diagnose pylonephritis?
A
Midstream urine sample sent to lab
Blood cultures

What is the treatment for pylonephritis?
A
Antibiotics that build concentration in kidneys
- Gentamicin for 7-10 days
- Cefuroxime if renal impairment or at risk of gentamicin toxicity
Monitor for sepsis
