Papilloedema
Blurred/ hazy disc margin
Neuroretinal rim = boggy/ swollen/ poorly defined
Cup is not visible
Anisocoria
small amount of physiological asymmetry - anisocoria
Pathogological anisocoria - varies between dark + light
Adies pupil
Post-ganglionic parasympathetic n fibre damage
Pilocarpine - constriction of abn pupil
Horner’s
Cocaine - no response
Epinephrine - dilation
Hydroxyamphetamine in POST-G Horner’s pupil wont dilate
Argyll-Robertson pupils
poor/no reaction to light but constricts to near stimulus
Neurosyphilis
Accommodates but doesn’t react to light
Efferent defect
CNIII motor - dilated pupil, ptosis and divergent squint
pupil dilated ALL time
Afferent defect
CNII damage - shine light in affected eye = both will be dilated because it does not pick up light
