cough for more then 3 weeks, fever, constitutional sxs
main cause of acute bronchitis
virus

fever, cough, rhinorrhea, wheezing, tachypnea, and respiratory distress
presentation of bacterial pneumonia
sudden onset of sxs, including pleurisy, fever, chills, prod cough, tachypnea, and tacycardia
presentation of viral pneumonia
gradual onset of sxs, no pleurisy, chills or high fever, general malaise, and a non prod cough
abx for inpat pneumonia and abx for icu pt
NON icu- fluroquinolone (moxifloxacin, levolfloxacin)
Icu- ceftriaxone, ampicillin- slbactam, plus azithromycin or fluorquinolone
