mechanical (eval of joint, soft tissue, muscles, visceral which limit motion or function) (tx PNF tech)
neuromuscular (eval muscular ability to efficiently initiate and demonstrate proper strength and endurance for any given contraction) (tx manual facilitation tech and directed exercise)
motor control (utilize efficient mechanical and neuromuscular components to maintain posture)
what test can you do to rule out ankle sprain or fracture
Ottawa Ankle Test
Ottawa ankle rules- to discern if need xray or not. Palpate medial and lateral maleolus to see if pain. Palpate up tibia and fibula to see if pain. Push on navicular and 5th metatarsal head. Or if can’t put weight on it. If If tender on any of these then get x ray.
