  • dilated pulmonary valve ring in severe pulmonary hypertension

Differentiation from aortic incompetence

A
  • there is no collapsing peripheral pulse.
  • loud P2 and right ventricular hypertrophy.
  • if there are no peripheral signs of aortic regurgitation or pulmonary hypertension then the murmur is almost always due to mild aortic regurgitation.
