  1. Stasis (bedridden in hospital, orthopaedic surgery, Heart failure)
  2. Hypercoaguability ( Trombophilia tendency), factor 5 leiden and NB cancer

A

Deep lower limb veins and pelvic veins

Clinical sign

A

Dyspnoea with normal lung exam and normal chest x-ray in a patient with a low PO2
Jvp can elevate with massive embolus and the BP will drop

D-dimer and confirmation test is CT pulmonary angiogram
