What is virchow triad
A
- Stasis (bedridden in hospital, orthopaedic surgery, Heart failure)
- Hypercoaguability ( Trombophilia tendency), factor 5 leiden and NB cancer
- Blood vessel injury

What is the common site of origin of PE
A
Deep lower limb veins and pelvic veins

Clinical sign
A
Dyspnoea with normal lung exam and normal chest x-ray in a patient with a low PO2
Jvp can elevate with massive embolus and the BP will drop

Diagnosis
A
D-dimer and confirmation test is CT pulmonary angiogram

Therapy
A
Oxygen plus anti-coagulation
