Bronchiectasis And Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis Flashcards
What other name is given to hypersensitive pneumonitis
Extrinsic allergic alveolitis
Describe hypersensitive pneumonitis
It is an interstitial lung disease caused by inhalation ot organs material eg (farmers lung and bird fancier disease and pigeon breeders disease)
Causes of focal bronchiectasis (unilateral)
Foreign body, endobronchial masses and tumours, vascular rings and slings.

What is the clinical picture of cystic fibrosis in kids.
Gastrointestinal= neonates- intestinal obstruction due to mecenium ileus. Obstructive jaundice cirrihosis and portal hypertension.
Failure to thrive with chronic foul smelling diarrhoea due to pancreatic.

Exocrine pancrease, insulin-dependent celibates mellitus.
Rectal prolapse
Respiratory manifestations of cystic fibrosis in kids
Repeated respiratory tract infection, especially staphylococcus aureus or pseudomonas aeruginosa leading to bronchiectasis.
Nasal polyps
Diagnosis of CF
Positive sweat test with a chloride concentration of moretha 0 60mmo1/l is diagnostic of CF to confirm the diagnosis two positive sweat tests are required
Management of bronchiectasis
Daily physiotherapy with postural drainage
