What are the symptoms of PTSD?
Identifiable trauma, trauma is re-experienced, avoidance, increased arousal

Cooccurrence of these symptoms for more than six months and more than a month after the trauma.
What is the vulnerability in people for PTSD?
bigger sympathetic response basally
What is an altered sympathetic stress response?
more epinephrine release than normal
NE and PTSD correlation?
people with PTSD have more NE throughout the day, its a chicken and egg scenario
Why is it hard to find if higher basal levels of NE predispose people to PTSD?
Ethics…. cant give people PTSD or trauma
What are some treatments that are not common?
prevent over consolidation and and disrupt reconsolidate
What is done when you disrupt consolidation?
Disrupting the reconsolidation can erase the memory because when a memory is recalled, the process is involved in memory formation.
What is seen is female trauma-exposed women’s brains?
smaller mPFC: similar chicken and egg scenario
