a stone carving of a draped female figure, used as a pillar to support the entablature of a Greek or Greek-style building

Corbeled arch
A freestanding, massive stone gateway with a large central arch, built as urban ornament and/or to celebrate military victories (as by the Romans)
Triumphal Arch
arch used in Islamic art, where the actual arch widens, like a horseshoe
Horseshoe Arch
A series of arches, carried by columns or piers and supporting a common wall or lintel. In a blind arcade, the arches and supports are engaged (attached to the background wall) and have a purely decorative function

an aristocrat or nobleman, high class person
