What are delusions?
4 Types
Fixed false beliefs
- Persecutory
- Referential
- Grandiose
- Somatic
What are hallucinations?
Perception like experiences that occur without an external stimulus - occur in sensory
What is disorganized thinking?
Thought disorder that is inferred from the person’s speech - severe enough to substantially impair effective communication
- Loose associations/derailment
- Tangential speech
- Word Salad
Grossly Disorganized or Abnormal Behavior - Catatonia
Catatonia = marked decrease in reactivity to environment
What is catatonia usually associated with?
Schizophrenia
Avolition
Lack of motivation
Alogia
Lack of speech
Anhedonia
Inability to experience pleasure
Asociality
Social isolation
Positive symptoms of Schizophrenia (5)
HBDID
-hallucinations, bizarre behavior, delusions, illusions, disorganized thinking
Negative symptoms of Schizophrenia (5)
Flat affect, anhedonia, avolition, social isolation, diminished self care
Anergia
Lack of energy

Person maintains the body position into which they are placed for long periods of time - in schizo
Echolalia
Repeating the speech of another person
