SSRI SE
nausea, headaches, weight gain, delayed ejaculation/anorgasmia, neuromuscular restlessness, serotonin syndrome when combined with MAOi’s

TCA SE
orthostatic hypotension, anticholinergic SE, sexual dysfunction, cardiac toxicity (tachycardia, SVTs, PQ/QRS/QT elongation, heartblock, ST/Twave changes

selegiline, tranylcypromine, phenelzine, isocarboxazid
MAOi’s SE
hyperadrenergic crisis with tyramine, serotonin syndrome with SSRIs, dose related orthostatic hypotension
Signs of lithium toxicity
ataxia, diarrhea, coarse tremor, coma, death, sinus arrest
What labs need to be monitored with lithium
TSH, creatinine, lithium serum levels
Lithium side effects
hypothyroidism, polyuria (DIABETES INSIPIDUS) , tremor, GI distress, weight gain, acne
Treatment for lithium induced diabetes insipidus
Amiloride + thiazide diuretics
Valproate SE
teratogenic, liver failure, pancreatitis, thrombocytopenia, AGRANULOCYTOSIS
Carbamazepine SE
agranulocytosis, pancytopenia, aplastic anemia, nausea and rash
What is dissociative amnesia?
sudden retrograde autobiographical memory loss (usually personal info of a traumatic nature), not caused by any medical condition
What are the low potency antipsychotics?
thioridazine, chlorpromazine
What are the medium potency antipsychotics?
mesoridazine, perphenazine
What are the high potency antipsychotics?
Haloperidol, Fluphenazine, trifluoperazine

What anticholinergic effects are caused by antipsychotics and which ones cause the most?
dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention, blurred vision
