What is a Charcot Joint?

A

aka neurogenicarhtropathy; occurs in patients with peripheral neuropathy (diabetes).
Usually presents as deformity of foot arches and toes; deformed bones with new bone formation adjacent to bony cortex; several large bizarrely shaped osteophytes present at margins
