amebic dysentery–> blood and mucus in stool

orally (ie from well water)
Amebiasis pathology
amebic lesions in intestine (destruction of tissue), amebic abcesses on liver (can be fatal if untreated)
Cryptosporidiosis parasite and transmission
Cryptosporidium parvum
Transmission: fecal-oral (contaminated water)
Initial symptoms of Cryptosporidiosis
watery diarrhea (self-limiting in healthy inds, prolonged in AIDS patients)

Giardia lamblia
Transmission: fecal-oral (contaminated water, clear mountain creeks)

watery diarrhea (very foul smelling)
