What is TCP (transmission control protocol)
Creates the data packets and reassembles them

What is HTTPS (web related)
Secure version of HTTP: uses public key to encrypt communications between a web browser/server
FTP( file transfer protocol) web related
Transfers files over a wan network, protocol used to send files on a network
SSL/TLS (Transport layer security)
Ensures transactions over a network are safe
SMTP (simple mail transfer protocol)
Transfers email to mail servers either from mail client or another mail server
POP3 (post office protocol)
Retrieves mail from a server by a mail client
Imap- Internet message access protocol
access mail on the remote server by a mail client (doesn’t remove mail but is a way of accessing it)
VOIP (voice over internet protocol)
Allows users to make voicecalls over a broadband internet connection for audio communication
