what is persuasive advertising
adverts designed to pressure consumers into buying a product. try to convince them to not go to competitor, often appeal to emotions of fear and pity, also appeal to consumers respect for celebrities e.g television and cinema adverts
what is reassuring advertising
advertising aimed at existing customers. designed to be comforting that customers were right to buy product and should continue to do so. e.g financial companies use this to reassure customers that their money is safe
what is below the line promotion
refers to any promotion that doesn’t involve advertising e.g sales promotion
what is the purpose of public relations
a way businesses communicate with stakeholders, increase sales by improving image of business
