prokaryotic cells: Flashcards
eukaryotic cells and examples:
cell with a nucleus-containing genetic info called DNA which is coiled into chromosomes
eg. plant and animals, algae, fungi and protists
memory bound organelles:
structures with a membrane
type of organelle in a eukaryote that helps it carryout any cellular function
mitochondria, vacuole, nucleus and chloroplasts
prokaryote cells and examples:
cells with no memory bound organelles and no cells
eg. bacteria and single celled cells
5/6 structures in a bacteria cells
plasmid DNA-circular dna that can be transferred ffrom 1 bacteria to another
cell wall and membrane
DNA-chromosomes
tail-flagella
slime capsules-some bacteria have it
plasmid DNA:
circular DNA that can be transferred from one bacteria to another
Slime capsules-
layer around cell wall-protects the cell
some bacteria have it
respiration occurs there
cell walls made of cellulose
