Indian Network on Climate Change Assessment
Govt launched INCCA in 2009
● Initiative of MoEFCC
It is a network-based programme, which consists of over 120 institutions and over 250 scientists countrywide.
National Communication (NATCOM)
● National Communication (NATCOM) to the UNFCCC has been initiated in 2002 funded by the Global Environment Facility

GRIHA
GRIHA is a Sanskrit word meaning – ‘Abode’.
● Devised by TERI and the MNRE is a voluntary scheme
To help design green buildings and, in turn, help evaluate the ‘greenness’ of the buildings. ● GRIHA is a rating tool that helps people assess the performance of their building.
National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture
The ICAR has launched National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) during 2010-11 with an outlay of Rs.350 crores for the XI Plan.
● It will primarily enhance the resilience of Indian Agriculture covering crops, livestock and fisheries.
Strategic research on adaptation and mitigation.
● Technology demonstration on farmers’ fields to cope with current climate variability.
● Vulnerability assessment of major production zones.
BSE Greenex
● Cap Weighted Free-Float Market Capitalization weighted Index comprising from the list of BSE-100 Index.

gTrade Carbon Ex Ratings Services Private Limited (gTrade) is a company based in India, which has co-developed the BSE-GREENV Index in close association with the BSE .
Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles (FAME) -India Programme
Recently Government removed subsidy for mild hybrid vehicles. ● Started in 2015 ● The Phase-II of the (FAME-India) Scheme proposes to give a push to electric vehicles (EVs) in public transport and seeks to encourage adoption of EVs by way of market creation and demand aggregation.

Long Term Ecological Observatories (LTEO)
Long Term Ecological Observatories (LTEO) for Climate Change Studies are one of the components under the ‘Climate Change Action Programme’ with an outlay of Rs. 40 crores in the 12th Plan Period.
Aims to understand the biophysical and anthropogenic drivers of ecosystem change in the selected biomes and their effects on social- ecological responses through a network of scientific institutions.
● Assess the change of structure and function in the natural ecosystems, identification of patterns and drivers of change in the natural ecosystems.
National Adaptation Fund for Climate Change
● NAFCC was operationalized in 2015-16. ● This scheme has been taken as Central Sector Scheme with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) as National Implementing Entity (NIE).
The overall aim of the fund is to support concrete adaptation activities which are not covered under on going schemes of State and National Government.
National Bio-Energy Mission
Biomass from agro and agro-industrial residue can potentially generate 25,000 MW of power in India.
Also propose a GIS-based National Biomass Resource Atlas to map potential biomass regions in the country.
