Competence Definition
understanding of the knowledge and skills required, and provides services in an honest and diligent manner
Legal Requirements
must adhere to acts/regulations/by laws; cannot knowlingly engage or condone any activity to work around the law; duty to keep current on laws that govern HR practices (ie. ESA. HRC, OHSA, PIPEDA etc)
Dignity in the Workplace
support/promote and apply requirements in workplace within profession and society
Balancing Interests
balance org and employee needs and interests; adhere to HR standards and act with integrity
Confidentiality
hold in strict confidence all confidential information acquired within their duties
Conflict of Interest
avoid, or disclose a potential conflict of interest that may infleunce personal actions or judgements

engage in activities that enhance the credibility and value of the profession
