Processing (High) Flashcards
10 steps in the Basic Processing Workflow.
Describe Step 1 -
ENTITIES
1 ENTITIES
Create new custodian entries in the Entities tab to correspond with the individuals who hold the files you intend to process. Eventually, you’ll associate each custodian with a data source.
10 steps in the Basic Processing Workflow.
Describe Step 2 -
CREATE PASSWORD BANK
2 CREATE PASSWORD BANK
Create new password bank entries to unlock any password-protected files you intend to process.
10 steps in the Basic Processing Workflow.
Describe Step 3 -
CREATE A NEW PROCESSING PROFILE
3 CREATE A NEW PROCESSING PROFILE
Create a new processing profile to specify the settings you want the processing engine to refer to when completing your processing jobs. You’ll select this profile when creating a processing set.
10 steps in the Basic Processing Workflow.
Describe Step 4 -
CREATE A NEW PROCESSING SET
4 CREATE A NEW PROCESSING SET
Create a new processing set that uses the processing profile you created. Then, add processing data sources to your saved processing set to specify the custodians and locations of the files you want to process.
10 steps in the Basic Processing Workflow.
Describe Step 5 -
INVENTORY
5 INVENTORY
Inventory the files located in the data sources associated with your processing set. This is optional.
10 steps in the Basic Processing Workflow.
Describe Step 6 -
APPLY FILTERS
6 APPLY FILTERS
Apply filters to the inventoried files to further narrow down the data set before discovery. This is optional.
10 steps in the Basic Processing Workflow.
Describe Step 7 -
REPORTS
7 REPORTS
Run reports to gauge how much you’ve narrowed down your data set to this point. You can also run reports after discovery and/or publish.
10 steps in the Basic Processing Workflow.
Describe Step 8 -
DISCOVER
8 DISCOVER
Discover the inventoried and filtered files. Then, PUBLISH the discovered files to your workspace so that you can review and eventually produce them.
10 steps in the Basic Processing Workflow.
Describe Step 9 -
ERRORS
9 ERRORS
View, ignore, or retry any errors that occurred during any phase of the processing job. If needed republish the files.
10 steps in the Basic Processing Workflow.
Describe Step 10 -
REVIEW IN YOUR WORKSPACE
10 REVIEW IN YOUR WORKSPACE
Search, review, and produce the documents that you published to your workspace.
What problems can be caused if you se your logging to verbose when publishing documents to a workspace?
Can cause your worker to run out of resources (CPU, RAM, disk usage, etc.), which then causes your publish job to cease entirely. If you need to use verbose logging in order to collect detailed logs, do so for short periods of time only (under 5 minutes) and have a developer on hand to troubleshoot if any issues occur.
What is a Processing Profile?
An object thats stored numbering, deNIST, extraction and deduplication settings that the processing engine refers to when publishing documents.
If you re-discover a file under a different Processig Profile to the original discovery does it re-extract the text using the new settings?
No.
it will only re-extract the text for a re-discovered file if an extraction error had occurred.
If you discover the same file twice with different profile settings or a different profile the text will not be re-extracted and the new settings will not apply
You publish Word and Excel files with text extraction method set to dtSearch.
What would happen to track changes text
It would appear as in line text and may be badly formatted wihout detail on teh types of changes etc.
A native (not dtSearch) extraction method will append track changes extracted text in a tracked changes section.
Doe teh password bank work with the Save as PDF Mass operation?
NO
The Save as PDF mass operation does not work with the Password Bank. Specifically, Save as PDF isn’t able to connect with the password bank to grab passwords for encrypted documents. That connection is only available for native imaging and processing.
