Processes of glacial weathering
A
- Frost action/ shattering
- Nivation

Q
Nivation
A
- Weathering and Erosion = Nivation
- Snow gets into a hollow in the ground
- Temperatures fluctuate around 0 degrees
= Thawing and Freezing - Freezes = frost shattering and bits of rock at the base of the hollow breaks off
- Melts = meltwater carries the broken bits of rock away
- Slopes collapse = waterlogged + eroded
- Hollow becomes deeper + wider
- Hollows formed are nivation hollows = corries
