Procedures and Callouts Flashcards
Emergency Equipment
− Protective Breathing Equipment (PBE). − Fire Extinguisher. − Crash Axe. − Life Vests. − Escape Ropes. − Flashlights.
Battery Voltage Check Prior to Power Up
Voltage 22V or above
- 21 V and 22 V, recharge the batteries prior to takeoff, through any AC source
- below 21V report to MX
Manual Engine abort conditions
- no positive oil pressure within 10s of N2
- No N1 by starter cutout (50% N2)
- No ITT within 1 min after fuel applied
- ITT exceeds start limit
- oil pressure stabilized below limits
- N1/N2 fail to accelerate to stable idle speed
- intermittent pneumatic or starter malfunction
Go-Around
TO/GA Buttons ……. Press
Thrust Levers ………. TO/GA
Slat/Flaps ……………… GA Flaps (Flaps 5 —> Flaps 2; Flaps Full —> Flaps 4)
With Positive Climb:
Gear ……………………… Up
Min Airspeed ……….. VRef +20
Engine Warm-up/Cool down
2 mins
Items requiring confirmation from both crew members
- Thrust Levers
- FIRE EXTINGUISHER Handles
- IDG Selectors
- Engine START/STOP Selectors
Windshear detection
Enabled from 10’ to 1500’
- Manually when a windshear Caution or Warning is detected and the pilot presses the TO/GA Button;
- When a windshear Warning is detected and Thrust Levers are set to TO/GA position or beyond;
- Automatically when the AFCS flight director mode is in Takeoffor Go-Around mode and a windshear Warning is detected
Thrust Reverser Guidelines
- Min Rev at 60 knts
- Reversers stowed by 30 knts
- MAX Rev on contaminated runways
- Reversers may be used until aircraft stopped during RTO or emergency
After Start Callouts
LSP: “SET FLAPS___, FLIGHT CONTROLS CHECK”
RSP: (Move flap lever to the desired position and verify EICAS indication) “FLAPS ___ SET”
LSP: (Presses the Steer DISENGAGE; Checks the flight controls; Selects MAP on MFD and presses
the steering handle.) “APU OFF AFTER START CHECKLIST”
RSP: (Confirms flight control movement with synoptic page; confirms power transfer on Electrical synoptic page; reads checklist) “AFTER START CHECKLIST COMPLETED”
Engine Fire on the Ground
“ENGINE __ FIRE”
LSP: “MEMORY ITEMS”
* Disengage AT and TLs Idle * Parking Brake ON * Affected START/STOP selector to STOP
RSP: *Pulls associated Fire Extinguisher Handle
LSP: “ATTENTION CREW, DWAIT FOR INSTRUCTIONS”.
“ENGINE 1 (2) FIRE CHECKLIST”.
Takeoff Callouts
PF: (Advance TLs to 40% N1 to stabilize) “CHECK THRUST”
PM: (Verifies N1 reaches target and normal indication)”THRUST SET”
PM: “EIGHTY KNOTS”
PF: “CHECKED”
PM: “V1” …. “ROTATE”
PM: “POSITIVE RATE”
PF: “GEAR UP”
@400’
PF: “SELECT HDG(NAV)
@ACCEL ALTITUDE
PF: “CLIMB SEQUENCE
PM: (Select VNAV and retracts flaps on schedule) “FLAPS ZERO”
Reasons for High-Energy abort (above 80 knts)
- Engine failures resulting in loss of thrust,
- Fire or fire warning,
- Severe damages
NADP 1 Departure
- Climb at V2 +10 until 1500’ (Thrust Reduction Alt - ICAO)
- Accel Height 3000’
NADP 2 Departure
-
Flight directive guidance during engine failure
- Engine failure below V2: pitch for V2
- Engine failure between V2 and V2 +10 kt: pitch for the present speed.
- Engine failure above V2 +10 kt: pitch for V2 +10 kt
