Q
If required how would you lock out a passenger door?
A
- Make sure the affected doors are in the closed position
- use the T-Key to open the panel above the door, and turn the isolation cock to isolate the air supply
- use the T-Key on each door leaf (observe the out of use sign on the door- will flash if only 1 door leaf is locked and will go steady if both doors are locked)
- close the door panel and apply door out of use stickers (if available)
- check the TMS for correct door status (Yellow Triangle, and will show as a yellow fault)

What is the coupling procedure on the 360?
A
- stop the train at 6ft (from the other unit)
- check the couplers on both units- ensure electrical boxes are closed
- ensure the doors are closed on both units- the key has been removed on the other unit
- draw forward to 2ft
- minimum power to couple
- as soon as the units are coupled- full service brake, master switch (N) neutral, set DRA
(controls will be now be dead in the middle cab, and external lights will extinguish) - Check TMS- will go blank at first, and then display the new 10 car configuration- acknowledge new configuration
- Turn headlight switch to off
- move master switch to off and remove key
- secure cab and make your way to the leading cab
(when setting up leading cab remember to enter 10 car configuration on ATP)

What is the uncoupling procedure on the 360?
A
- enter cab, check PBC in full service and DRA is set
- insert train key and turn to ON
- Press and hold ATP ON, master switch to (N) neutral
(no AWS warning will sound) - setup ATP (remember 10 car configuration)
- Press and hold the UNCOUPLE button
- cancel AWS warning horn, check TPWS panel and AWS sunflower
- acknowledge new configuration on TMS
- Master switch to (R) reverse, minimum power to set back 2ft- full service brake
- Check external lights on both units
(if forming passenger service- release doors on right side) - secure cab
- check both couplers, electrical covers are closed and no there is no abnormal air leaks

What is the procedure if you are ask to do a train shutdown?
A
- Make a PA to the passengers and inform them the lights will go out while shutdown takes place
(or detrain if required, and ensure doors are closed) - Lower the pan (check line light extinguishes)
- press “battery off”
- Master switch to neutral and key out
[ WAIT 20 SECONDS] - Key in and master switch to (N) neutral
- press “battery on”
- ensure “low pan air” light extinguished
[ Cancel AWS ] - Pan UP, check line light illuminates
- setup cab- acknowledge configuration, (if Possible) full ATP setup, and carry main brake check
- Switch saloon lights on

Explain the 110v DC cross feed procedure?
A
- Isolate the PAN on the defective unit- PAN down on drivers desk, use Pantograph locking handle and earthing switch in the ceiling of PTOSLW
- 357 MCB cupboard (opposite toilet in PTOSLW), turn the “synchron VCB” switch to “ISOL” position - this will desynchronise the VCB
[wait for assisting unit]
- disconnect batteries on defective unit by tripping the battery connectors (32-F10) MCB (357 MCB cupboard)
[assisting unit will couple up to defective unit]
- Check Battery Direct (BD), Battery Clean (BC), and Battery Normal (BN) MCBs haven’t tripped in both units
- press coupling contactor button on assisting unit (wall behind drivers seat)
- Press coupling contactor on defective unit
- check voltage indicator on defective unit- should now be receiving 110V, (but no traction/dynamic braking, no HVAC)

Procedure for taking a train out of Hex (Part 1 depot to entering the train)
A
- Ensure Hi Vis is on, and use authorised walking route to HEX
- Head to Depot Controls office
- Check with the DC and/or allocation list and find out what the Train Unit number using the booked departure headcode
- Collect keys and defect book for the unit
- Check FFS certificate- ensure the date is valid, Unit number/ Headcode are correct, check faults, and ensure it is signed by the Depot Control- you must counter sign
(take a photo of the Prep Certificates and send to driver reports) - check the Mimic Board for the train location and ensure no trains are fouling points
- used authorised walking routes to get to the train
- check the train for ‘Not to be moved’ boards, pipes or scotch blocks attached
- ensure no one working on the train
- insert the T-key and enter the train

Procedure for taking a train out of Hex (Part 2 inside the cab to leaving the depot)
A
- enter the train (3 point of contact)
- ensure no safety systems are not isolated (report to DC if they are and do not move the train)
- check the emergency equipment
- check TMS for train configuration
- check floor is not wet and no one working on the train
- Set up the cab
- Check hand held radio is charged and set to Ch. 1
- Contact DC
“ Driver of unit 20X to Depot control over”
“ Driver of unit 20X setup and ready to depart and await instructions over”
“ to confirm I am authorised to proceed as far as the line is clear to SN6114/0” - sound horn before moving
- check and set points trailing and facing
- proceed 5mph towards SN6114/0
- Set up GSMR
- When PLS clears proceed to SN152 (main aspect with U to SN144)
- Let depot control know you are leaving the depot

What is the train disposal procedure?
A
- full service brake, neutral, DRA set
- release doors and detrain passengers
- switch to tail lights
- make PA informing passengers train out of service, check it’s safe to close doors
- close doors (interlock), don’t forget the GOP
- sweep the train ensure all passengers are off
- key in other cab
- pan down, check line light extinguishes
- batteries off
- move master switch to off
- exit cab and secure train
