What are the three main components of the crime triangle?
Offender
Victim
Location
What are the outer ‘controllers’ of the crime triangle?
Handler (offender)- a person who is in a position to exert some control over the offenders behaviour e.g parents, spouse, probation officer.
Guardian (victim) - people who can protect e.g family, co-workers, security, police.
Manager (location) - someone who has some responsibility for controlling behavior in the specific location e.g teacher, landlord, establishment owner.

Confirm problem exists
Identify recurring problems, frequesncy and consequences
Prioritise and develop broad goals
Analysis
Identify & understand the events/conditions which proceed the problem. Working hypotheses as to why it is happening.
Research what is known about problem and how it is currently addressed.
Response
Brainstorm new interventions. Look at what other communities have done. Outline a response plan with objectives and responsible parties.
Carry out the response.
Assessment
Determine if a plan was implemented and if it was successful. Collect data. Was it successful? Where broad or specific goals obtained?
