What is the difference between PCD and Kartagener’s syndrome?

A

PCD = cilia lining the repiratory tract, fallopian tube and sperm function inefficiently or in an unsynchronized fashion.

Kartagener’s syndrome - is a triad of:

  1. Situs Invertus
  2. PCD
  3. Abnormal sinuses causing sinusitis & bronchiectasis
