15 hours a day

What is used to provide the LTOT, cylinders or concentrators?

Concentrators

Who should be assessed for LTOT?
A
- Severe FEV1 <30%
- Cyanosis
- Polycythaemia
- Peripheral oedema
- Raised JVP
- Oxygen sats < 92% on air

How is assessment done?
A
ABG on 2 seperate occasions at least 3 weeks apart in patients on OPTIMAL management.

What should their ABG be to offer LTOT?
A
pO2 <7.3 kPa
OR
pO2 7.3 to 8kPa AND any of the following:
- Seconary polycythaemia
- Nocturnal hypoxemia
- Peripheral oedema
- Pulmonary hypertension
