What is Tabu?

A

Tabu is a concept of Polynesian origin. Rules of tabu preserve the power of mana. Tabu refers to any person, object or place that is ‘set apart’, removed from everyday user and consecrated for use in ritual and worship that channels the mana of the spirit world. Can only be used by those mana - filled people. E.g. a priest and the tabernacle/ the sacraments of holy communion.

What is a Shaman?

A

Usually a tribal elder or holy person who has inherited the gift from their ancestors and is a living mediator between the human world and the spirit world. They have established a close relationship with the spiritual garden by fasting and prayer. E.g. a priest.
