In the Catholic tradition, there is the pope, cardinals, bishops and priests who look after the communities.

Central to the communities is worship, prayer, fellowship, outreach and care for the community itself. The design of the church building as well as social area are essential in building up the life of the church.

In the Anglican tradition there is a general synod for the country which is made up of bishops, clergy and laity. A 2/3 majority of each group is needed if any change is to be passed.

There are many different denominations today and the ecumenical movement encourages distinctiveness but also cooperation.
