Festivals take place throughout the year in the different seasons Passover, Rosy Hashannah, Sukkot, Purim and Shavuot are all festivals that you should be familiar with.

Rites of Passage include circumcision on the 8th day, Bar and Bat Mitzvah at age 13 (becoming a man or a woman), marriage and death.

At the initiation ceremony the Brit Milah (circumcision) dates back to Abraham and his covenant with God. The Mohel carries out the circumcision, there are special prayers. There is a naming ceremony for the girls and the reading from the Torah in the synagogue.

Keeping the historical memory of the Holocaust alive. 6 million Jews were killed in the Holocaust and so their numbers decreased further.
