Facades???
Don’t Position Crews under Facades until assessed for structural integrity, deemed safe, and approved by BC.
Keep Sufficient crews in staging for contingency plan.
Crews entering facades building must receive a safety briefing specifically covering access and escape routes.
IC Must do….
- Hold sufficient resources to staff RIC & Mitigate Emergencies
- Designate a Safety Officer
- Assess the integrity of fire involvement in facade
- Prevent fire personnel from being under facade until structural integrity is established
- Management of utilities.
- Supervise Overhaul.
Types of Facades
- Unsupported non cantilevered (Most Dangerous)
- Unsupported Cantilevered
- Supported non-Cantilevered
- Supported / Cantilevered - Safest
