Q

PZR spray info

A
  • Narrow spray to prevent spray from contacting PZR wall, to help with thermal shock.
  • PZR spray valves are designed to prevent the PZR pressure from reaching the lift setpoint of the PZR PORV’s. (so steam doesn’t)

Q

Spray Bypass Valves

A
  • A small continuous spray flow (.5gpm) is provided by the throttle (needle valves) valves which bypass the spray valves.
  • Ensures PZR liquid is in chemical equilibrium with the rest of the RCS
  • Prevent thermal shock/water hammer of the spray piping.

Q

PRT cover gas and pressure?

A

-Nitrogen Cover gas eliminates air from tank to prevent explosive combination with hydrogen from RCS. Nitrogen regulator Maintains 3psig.
