CV spray system Flashcards
1
Q
Containment vessel spray system purpose?
A
- serves to reduce the containment pressure and temperature following a LOCA or main steam line break to near normal conditions. (42psig, and 263F)
- Also removes radioactive iodine from the containment atmosphere.
2
Q
CV spray pumps
Location, power supply, suction supplied from?
A
- Located in SI pump room
- powered by E1 and E2. A/B
- RWST is used for suction of pumps, but can get suction from RHR pumps.
- CCW cooling is available if suction is coming from RHR. Not needed while RWST is in service. (start of actuation)
3
Q
Motor Operated Valves power supplies
A
- A and C valves are MCC-5
- B and D valves are MCC-6
4
Q
SI-845s A,B,C
Discharge of SAT
A
Spray additive tank discharge. (NaOH)
- A and B normally closed, open on spray signal.
- C always open, but is throttled to 12gpm after signal. Open at 80gpm.
5
Q
SI-880s A,B,C,D
A
- CS pumps discharge valves.
- Normally closed, open on signal.
6
Q
NaOH why?
A
-Corrosion and iodine capture.
7
Q
Spray signal needs what containment pressure and the logic
A
-10psig setpoint in Containment showing on 2/3 of 2/2
8
Q
Automatic actuation causes? 10psig Hi-Hi CV alarm
A
- Main Steam Line Isolation actuation
- Spray actuation
- Safety Injection actuation
- Phase B CV isolation
9
Q
Manual actuation causes?
Both spray buttons simultaneously depressed
A
- Spray Actuation
- Phase B CV isolation
- CV Ventilation Isolation
(No MSIV close)
