Pressurization Flashcards
1
Q
What is the pressurization system?
A
To adjust cabin altitude and rate of change cabin altitude
Air is supplied form air conditioning pack to pressure areas
CPC1 + Motor = System 1
2
Q
Cabin pressurization system
A
Has 4 general functions:
- Ground: fully open the outflow valve
- Pre-pressurization: during takeoff
- Pressurization in flight
- Depressurization: after touchdown, gradually releases residual cabin overpressure
3
Q
What does the system consist?
A
- 2 CPC cabin pressure controllers
- 1 outflow valve with an actuators that incorporates 3 motors (2 for automatic, 1 for manual)
- 1 control panel
- 2 safety valves (to avoid excessive differential pressure)
4
Q
How does the CPC get information from?
A
- Emer ram air
- ADIRS 1+2+3 ( Stat.press, baro corr)
- FMGC (field ldg elev, dest.qnh)
- LGCIU 1+2 (Flt/Gnd,TLA)
- EIU 1+2
5
Q
What do the safety valve use for?
A
2 independent pneumatic safety valve prevent cabin pressure going too high (8.6 psi) or too low (1 psi)
6
Q
Automatic transfer occurs when?
A
+ 70s after each landing
+ if operating system fail
7
Q
Pressurization mode
A
- GND: before Takeoff and 55s after Landing
- Takeoff
- Climb
- Cruise: limit of approximate 8000ft
- Descent: max rate of descent 750ft/min
- Abort
8
Q
How can change the system manually?
A
Switching Mode SEL Pb to Man for at least 10s, then returning it to Auto
9
Q
Ditching Pb when On?
A
Send close signal to:
- Main outflow valve
- Ram air inlet
- Avionic inlet and extract fan
- Pack flow control valve
