Fuel System Flashcards
1
Q
Fuel system
A
- supply fuel in the correct quantities
- supply fuel to the eng and APU
- control transfer of fuel from center tank to wing tanks
- circulates fuel to cool the IDG
2
Q
Suction valves
A
Closed by pumps pressure in normal operation, they allow eng to be fed by gravity if the wing tank pumps fail
3
Q
Fuel feed sequence
A
- From center to wing: FLSCU reopen the center tank transfer valve when the eng have used 250kg of wing tank fuel (when the fuel level reaches the underfull sensors)
- from ACT to center: ACT transfer start after takeoff at slats’ retraction if the center tank high-level sensor has been dry for 10mkn
4
Q
Refueling time
A
+ 17 min for wing tanks
+ 20 min for all tanks (without ACT)
5
Q
Fuel tank inerting system
A
The aim of this is to reduce the flammability in the fuel tanks that have a high flammability exposure
(Produce an oxygen-depleted air “with less than 12% of oxygen” that goes in the center tank to replace
