Pressurization Flashcards
If cabin pressurization is lost, the aircraft will enter the EDM if:
Autopilot is ON
Red CABIN PRESS LOW annunciated
Aircraft is > 40,000 MSL
What altitude will the EDM descend to?
15,000 MSL
When on the ground, the FLIGHT/LANDING switch will automatically switch to FLIGHT
At taxi speeds above 8 kts
On the ground with the FLIGHT/LANDING switch selected to FLIGHT how will the cabin pressurize?
Cabin will descend to 500’ below field elevation
How do you select between two cabin pressure controller channels?
By cycling the AUTO/MANUAL switch
The CABIN PRESS LOW message illuminates when
Four ways: If landing field elevation is > 7,500' If LFE is 7,500 - 9500' If LFE is 9500-14,500' In Manual - 10,000'
How does the pressurization controller switch channels?
- Cycling the AUTO/MANUAL switch
2. Opening the Cabin Door
The CPAM obtains altitude information from
Captain’s side ADM
The FLIGHT/LANDING switch changes to LANDING
During descent, change of altitude more than 1000’, or selecting LANDING on the cabin pressure control panel
What happens to the FLIGHT/LANDING mode if the aircraft levels off after descent begins?
The pressurization system will continue ot pressure the aircraft to a normal pressure for that altitude. However, the FLIGHT/LANDING switch will still indicate LANDING.
The CPAM obtains its landing field elevation information from:
The FMS or pressurization selector panel
In the SEMI mode, aircraft pressurization is controlled by:
Presetting all the information in the CABIN PRESSURE SELECTOR PANEL on the center console
How long does it take to open the PRV after landing in the AUTO/SEMI mode?
1 minute after outflow valve has fully opened.
Cabin Pressurization in the Manual mode is controlled by
manually manipulating the TROV via a DC motor
In a flight from a low altitude airport to a high altitude airport, how will the cabin pressurization system function?
Cabin will climb to 8,000’ until descent, when it will climb to field elevation
