How is the Hard Over Prevention System (HOPS) reset once tripped?
By pulling and resetting the CBs IAW the QRH
If the elevator HOPS activates, what effect will it have on the elevator?
It will be operative but without the benefit of the affected side’s hydraulic boost
Which flight control(s) does the autopilot have authority over?
Aileron and elevator
What happens to the flight spoilers if the LATERAL CONTROL switch, located on the flight deck center left pedestal, is selected OFF
They are inoperative
If correctly armed, what indications will occur if the ground spoilers do not deploy on touchdown?
NO GND SPLRS lights located on the windshield center post will illuminate, master warning light, GROUND SPOILER CAS
How are the ground spoilers normally activated (if armed)?
Wheel spin up >53 kts, or WOW
What is the purpose of the GPWS/GRD SPLR FLAP ORIDE switch
When landing with less than full flaps, the switch allows ground spoilers to deploy with wheel spin up only.
When landing with less than full flaps and the FLT REF page of the display controller indicates a VREF of less than 125 KCAS, what is the procedure?
Fly a minimum of 125 KCAS
What precaution should be observed prior to setting the gust lock?
Ensure all hyd system pressure is 0.
When setting the pitch trim, what is the correct indication?
Trim is in the GREEN band and the digital trim valve is also GREEN.
With only battery power, why is EMER STAB selected to ARM in order to set flaps 10°?
It electrically disconnects the STAB from the FLAP/STAB computer, allowing the flaps to move by AUX HYD and DC power alone.
While performing the stall barrier test, the stick shaker and stall barrier will activate at what AOA?
Stick shaker will activate at 0.85 AOA followed 1/2 second later by the stick pusher which activates at 1.0 AOA
What does the A/P DISC on the Yoke do when depressed?
Disconnects Auto-pilot
Stops Stick Pusher
Stops Elevator Trim motor
Stops STAB motor
With EMER STAB, how does the pilot trim the elevator?
With the trim wheel.
The china-hat switch controls the stab motor with EMER STAB depressed.
What is the max the spoiler deflection while in the air/ground?
Air - 30° with speed brake handle
Air - 47° with full yoke deflection (55° with full speed brake handle)
Ground - 55°
